Code signing policy

Last updated 12 October 2026

Free code signing provided by SignPath.io, certificate by SignPath Foundation.

What gets signed

The Windows installer (Prestige_<version>_x64-setup.exe) and the program files inside it, for every release published on github.com/Mr5elfDe5truct/prestige/releases. Only builds made from the public source in that repository are signed.

How a release is built

Releases are built by GitHub Actions from a tagged commit in the public repository, never on a personal machine. The build output is sent to SignPath, which checks it came from that workflow and that repository before anything is signed.

Team roles

RoleWhoWhat they do
Committers and reviewersRyan B. GylesWrite and review changes to the source.
ApproversRyan B. GylesApprove each signing request by hand before a release is signed.

Contributions from anyone else are reviewed by a committer before they are merged. The GitHub account that controls the repository uses two-factor authentication.

Privacy

This program will not transfer any information to other networked systems unless specifically requested by the user or the person installing or operating it. See the privacy policy for each time Prestige goes online and why.

Reporting a problem

If you find a signed file that you think shouldn't be, or a security problem, please open an issue at github.com/Mr5elfDe5truct/prestige/issues.
